The Asia Pacific Human Development Network (AP-HDNet) is an e-platform where members exchange knowledge, raise and debate issues on human development in the region. The Network is an integral part of the process leading to the preparation of the Asia-Pacific Human Development Reports (APHDRs) - it is our e-forum where a broad cross-section of stakeholders engages in a lively, diverse and rich debate of relevance to the Report. The network currently has over 700 members who come from diverse backgrounds: governments, media, private sector, research institutions, academia, civil society organisations and independent experts.

Past interactive e-discussions have focussed on corruption and human development, gender - addressing unequal power and voice, and climate change and human development. These e-discussions have been useful for the APHDR Tackling Corruption, Transforming Lives and for the APHDR Power, Voice and Rights: A Turning Point for Gender Equality in Asia and the Pacific and for the forthcoming APHDR on climate change.

Because of the very nature of the AP-HDNet, it is also used to deepen advocacy for the APHDRs. For example, members have debated ways and means of implementing the seven-point agenda proposed in Tackling Corruption, Transforming Lives.

Contributions by the network members are made in their individual capacity. Data and analyses in the contributions have not been verified by the Network. Thus the accuracy of data, sources and references, citations and quotes in contributions are the sole responsibility of the contributor(s).

It is our pleasure to invite you to voice your views. We look forward to benefitting from your knowledge and experience.
